Heathers The Musical was performed at Southwestern University in March 2019 in Sarofim School of Fine Art’s thrust stage, Jones Theater.

Concept

Create a rock concert environment that complements and highlights the music and story. Create lighitng environments for a variety of spaces that complement the story.

Light Plot

Creating the plot took many revisions over several weeks, sitting in on rehearsals and discussing with my professor made this process easier. The plot was perfectly created for this show and I was able to create many looks for the myriad of scenes and numbers in this musical. To stay organized, I created a magic sheeet so I could reference the different systems easily.

Previsualization

Before working in the space, I used Capture 2018 to visualize the show to create cues, looks, and effects. This was a first for a Southwestern student and I hope to continue to learn this software and develop my skills for future projects. With Capture, I was able to come in to rehearsals with looks ready to see and edit cues away from the board.
